How would introducing time travel mechanics affect the gameplay and decision-making in train simulation games? Would players enjoy the complexity of managing trains in different historical contexts, and could this lead to new educational opportunities within the genre?

Re: Time Travel Mechanics in Train Simulation
I don't think time travel could be relevant to solving what is basically a sliding block type puzzle.
My intent is to use the software simulation as the basis for a 'Process Control' of a modal railroad implementation of the puzzle.

What if we could manipulate time within the context of a train simulation? Could integrating time travel mechanics revolutionize gameplay and enhance storytelling in train simulations, or would it complicate user experience beyond enjoyment?
